This clip shows a number of starts as well as rpm changes of the Zoche aero-diesel running in our windtunnel testbench.

The video was taken with a small camera mounted inside the windtunnel.

You will note that the propeller is by far the dominating source of noise; there is hardly any mechanical engine noise or exhaust noise. (The engine is run without any muffler system)

It is also noteworthy to observe the extremely low engine vibration, there is not even a displacement of the engine during start-up!

At the end of this clip you can hear the turbocharger spinning down.
